  1. REFLECTION - Sara Welander

Today i got to work on the repertoire scene that i chose and as well got to choose the partner to work with. I chose Luke and we did the scene called "You Belong To Me". It is a scene about Mildred, a middle-aged woman who is having dark fantasies of killing her husband who is acting very normal, just reading the newspaper. I think it went very well how we did it and all we rlly need to do is get the props we need and learn our lines.
The last thing we had time to do was say out our monologues to the class. I had "The Hairy Ape" and i know that the first thing i need to do is memories my lines there, which will be my hw for the next lesson coming up. I really like it as it has very strong, dramatic lines for it which mean a lot and that i understand pretty well :)

  2. Today during class, i got to pick a partner to perform repetoire scene 'am i blue'. I chose Onur :) The scene is basically about college students and this girl talking to the guy about his 'appointment' with a prostitute. It sounds quite adult like but reading the script it really isnt that bad. The girl i play seems to like the guy she is talking to as she is trying to find out a lot about him and she tells him that the girl he's got the appointment with is quite ugly. We performed the scence for the first time and i thought it went quite well. We worked together easily, understood are parts and all we need to do is get outfits and learn our lines ! :D

  3. So, today in class we first said the scenes we chose, and chose partners to work with. I decided to work with Martin, even though i really don't mind to work with anyone.
I decided to do the scene called "A slight ache", basically it is a married couple, having a dilemma of how to kill a wasp that came in the marmalade jar. There is a lot of action we need to work on, we need to think of blocking, and learn our lines. For the next time i decided to bring some props, such as a jar and a plate with a spoon. I really like this one, because it is about an insect and how scared i am cuz of a little thing, the thing is that i don't need to act it out much, cuz it is quite natural for me to behave like that when i see something scary.
After that we went quickly through our monologues, i understand mine well, and i am so proud of myself that i learned it by now:)
I think that what we are doing now is very good, and i feel positive and confident about all that we are doing now:)

  4. In this lessson, we have chosen repertoire scenes and have worked with our partners. Michael and myself have chosen the scene ' Tango ' as it is an interesting piece. We have acted it out and presented it in class with the scripts. By next lesson we will have to be knowing our lines more or less.

    Best of luck to everybody!

  6. Today in class i was paired up with Gamlet. This is because all the boys in the class didnt pick a repertoir piece in the Health Week and we had to pick a peice now. Also gamlet and i chose a really fun peice to play. It is about an argument between the famous Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso. We picked this peice not because it was short, and the other male and mlae peice was long, but becasue it would be fun to act out together.

So the two men are in a cafe with a disco. Einstein and Picasso are dancing and the painter and the theorist meet and bicker in a french cafe about who's theory is the best. I am einstein and i get to tell gamlet how bad his peice of art is whilst he does the same thing to mine. Eventually after writing down their theories and fighting over whos is the best Einstein finally wins the battle by offending Picasso and saying how good his is and dances off. I think it will be amazing fun to play this piece and i think both gamlet and i will enjoy it.

Also i would like to see if we could get some disco music and some props. Also costumes would tie the whole thing together. I look forward to playing this piece next lesson.

  7. In today's lesson we were assigned our repitoire scene pairs. I am working with Sara. We have chosen a scene about a womans imagination of killing her husband. We seem to be making good progress and have thought about some props we might need such as a toy gun.

  8. Today in the lesson we worked on our repetoire scenes. Silke and I chose Keely and Du. Its a hard peice but I think with enough work we can pull it off. Its kind of dark and emotional , and I think it might be hard for Silke especially to do because she has trouble with english, I have trouble with the overall attitude that my character has to obtain. I would prefer to just change the script over all but if possible maybe work on it. One of the main issues would be the fact that Silke has to be chained to a bed which would be hard to do with our simple selection of props. But it is an interesting piece.
