Today we had a single period meeting where we tried to rehearse and discuss those eight scenes that students chose as needing most work. These scenes were.

3. History Scene - The Death of Rasputin
4. History Scene - The First Roman Triumvirate
5. Picture Group - Max, Martin, Gamlet
6. Picture Pair - Gamlet, Mike
7. Picture Pair - Christina, Onur
8. Picture Pair - Anne-Mieke, Evelina

Today in class Gamlet was absent when we were supposed to perform our History group work, which needs alot of work.

- Christina Siri and Max's Mary Queen of Scotts
- Onur Sara and AnneMiques - Death Of Abraham Lincoln
- Onur and Christina's picture pair.
They were all really good, and after watching them we just worked on other pieces for 10 minutes. :)
Today in the lesson we were supposed to do eight rehersal performances , however Gamlet and Evelina were absent so we weren't able to. My group performed our History scene about Mary Queen of Scotts, we need to work on our entrances and exits and we need to think about scene transitions. Maybe some classical music or something. Max is going to make an axe head out of cardboard so thats all ok . I really like Onur's and Christina's picture pair. It was really funny and original . After that we went and rehearsed some of our scenes , so Silke and I rehearsed our repetoire pair. It's coming along really well we just need to learn our lines. I have the costumes and music all sorted and we know how we're going to pull it off so it's all good. But today was a good lesson and I'm happy with my scenes so far. The history one needs a lot of work however because we aren't really that far into rehersals. We just need to run it a couple of times and it'll be fine .

ReplyDeleteOK so today we were meant to do 8 scenes in 1 drama lesson which i thought was a bit optimistic but when we went to class i realsied tath gamlet and evelina were not there and this took away 5 SCENES. 5 whole scenes. This meant we had only 3 to do which we managed to do very well.
I went first with Christina and Siri and we did Death of Mary, Queen of Scotts. I think we did rather well. I will try to finish off mkaing props but costuming is not my problem as i have done alot of the work.
Next we watched Onur Anne-Mieke and Sara doing there scene of Abraham linkon's death adn i must say they did pretty well. I think they can improve on the suspense a little and the learning lines would help.
Lastly we watched Onur and Christina's Scene with me in it as a picture. This went pretty well as they have a strong picture to work with. LITERALLY!!!! I think they need to work on blocking though.
After this since we had extra time we redid our pieces to make sure. It WAS fun.

ReplyDeleteThe scenes we watched today were the death of Mary Queen of Scots, Murder of Abraham Lincoln and Onur and Christina's picture scene. They all seemed to contain some humor and were all very effective. I especially enjoyed Onur and Christina's scene as it had a lot of humor in it.
After this we worked for 10 minutes on a scene we chose. It was good.
Today we had only one period. But we watched people doing their scenes and we worked at the scenes we needed most work at.

It was really cool to see because they knew a few of their lines and Siri Knew them all!!!!Well done! it was bit of a chaos because they went everywhere but with a hat and stuff it would be better :D

ReplyDeleteToday we performed 'The assassination of Abraham Lincoln' for the class, which from what i remember, we haven't done much before. I think we've definitely progressed in it and now all we need to work on is learning lines and staging (especially with Booth jumping off the balcony and limping off. Need to work on that with Anne-Mieke :) ). Otherwise, we are pretty much good to go next friday. OOh, we also need to think about costumes. Me and Anne-mieke discussed a bit about that during class and will inform Onur next lesson. We came up with that Anne-mieke will dress all in black, have a mustache drawn on her face and the prop she needs is a gun. I need a long skirt, a hat for the beginning, and have my hair-up as well a little make-up on. Onur we decided will have the big black hat, the mustache, and a formal jacket/coat just to show his superiority.
I did the same for all the other scenes. But here i will only list the ones for me: Picture group - tea cup, glasses, hair-up, long skirt, walking stick, magazine. Picture Pair - Newspaper/magazine, filled bag, 1 or 2 guns, and normal clothing. Repertoire Scene - Gun, reading glasses, tea cup, and normal clothing. That is pretty much it! :D
Today, the first thing we did was watch some of the scenes and perform some in front of the class too.
ReplyDeleteFirst, we managed to watch Siri and Christina and Max's history scene which was the one where Mary gets her head chopped off. Then, me, Sara, and Anne-mieke performed our history scene, 'The Assassination of Abraham Lincoln'. We did pretty well on it, but the last part always gets messed up. Then, me and Christina performed our scene, 'The Picture'. I think we did well because we managed to make everyone laugh, and that was what it was meant to do. The only problem is that we didn't set up our stage well but we're gonna try and discuss that next time. Oh, and thank you Max for being our possessed picture.
That was the first part of the lesson. For the rest of the lesson, me and Christina worked on our picture pair scene. I think it might end up being my best scene. :D
In todays lesson, my history group which involves max and siri have performed our piece infront of the class. we had planned to go through most of the scenes to be performed but gamlet and evelina were absent and so we were not able to perform many scenes. howveer, later we could choose which scenes needed more work and so me and onur had performed our picture pair scene. it needs a little bit more work and we need to start to bring props and cups and stuff like that, so that the scene will work. for the rest of the lesson, we have had a good lesson.
