In our double period today, the whole class demonstrated having learned the lines of their respective repertoire scenes. Some students were entirely "off-book" where some others were almost there. On the whole, this was a successful exercise and all these scenes seem headed in the right direction.
We then began final performances of "Picture Group" scenes. Due to student absence and a surprise yearbook photo session, only two groups were able to present. Unfortunately, neither of these two performed scenes were reflective of students' best work.
It has been agreed that, for each student's Quarter 3 grade his/her lowest grade of three projects ("Picture Group", "Picture Pair", "History") will be dropped.
Please remember that on Friday we will present the remaining "Picture Group" scene, ALL "Picture Pair" scenes, and ALL "History" scenes.

So, on this double lesson we had today we first started off with recording our repertoire scenes.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, it was like a surprice to me, so i didn't do so well. To my surprice, i kno almost all martin's lines but not mine:O
I feel that i need to know my lines more, even though i have very short ones it is hard for me because sometimes marin doesn't finish his line, and waiting for me to say mine, and i dont because i know it isn't my time to do so. Also i don't agree with the grading system, i agree with my grade though. The reason i don't agree is because some people have got paragraphs to learn, whereas others have only saying such as "no, how, why", therefore i think it would be good to pull up the grades of the people wih long lines. But im happy with what ive got:)
Also it would be good idea not to have a prompt, but the teacher being a prompt, because i was a prompt today once, and a person skipped like half of the lines, and i think thatbeing imaginative person and sticking in the words that are not in the script and getting a very good mark is unfair!
Oh well, then we did our Pivture groups, luckily(i didnt bring in the costume) there were pictures taken for the yearbook. How irresponsible it is taking people off class, which is planned!!!
But for friday i need to bring in he costume for the picture groups, learn and rehearse with my group for the first time the history scne, and bring my servand costume, and rehearse a bit picture pairs and bring in the props and costume, because as the teacher said, i just looks stupid pretending o drink and do stuff:(
In whole it was a good lesson, but hopefully the next one wil be better and we will et more work done, i promice from me to be fully prepared for the next lesson.
Thank u for teaching us!
Today at our double lesson of drama we started by recording our repertoire scenes, not for a grade but just to see how much we know our lines. This we all knew but some people, like me got mixed up and we messed up all of what we were meant to do and we made a HUGE mess of the lesson.
ReplyDeleteWith our repertoire scene, Gamlet and I, in my opinion, we ruled. We knew all our lines. The line Evelina pointed out was said as well because Gamlet and I said it and found out it was actually said, but anyway. We knew all our lines, all we need now is costuming, which we can just wear our normal clothes, and a wig or 2. I also need a white wig and a beard. This wont be a problem if we do not have it as we also have stickers that say, Hi I'm Einstein and, Hi I'm Picasso so its all good.
For friday we are nearly all set, we of course need to practice more but we are all set. For the History groups we are set as long as Siri is there and as for the Repertoire and Picture Pairs, i am ready... I will make a frame for onur and christina and will wear a nice black hat which there is in the drama room, a cane, which is also there, how lucky, and a black shirt...
We didnt do very well in the picture groups and it shows we were all unprepared and needed to practice more. Sorry about that!
Also sir thank you for the kind gesture of dropping the lowest grade.
ReplyDeleteIn this double drama lesson, we have gone through the repertoire scene of each student and it was being recorded. Each student was meant to learn his or her lines by this lesson to make this an off-book performance, In which many of us managed to do, i think me and mike have done a good job in this as it is quite impressing from mike to know his lines so well (hehe - christina jogh - nevermind :) After that, we moved on to Picture groups. My group did not manage to perform for this act as Siri was absent. However, other people did very well I believe they are capable of improving their grade if there would be a redo of a certain scene, but I dont think people would need this. I have enjoyed watching many of my class mates' acts and i have to say that they are going the right direction. Everything is coming pretty great and i am sure by friday people are going to be great for the final performance.
ReplyDeleteIn this double drama lesson, we went over all the repertoire scenes. Each studen had to know his lines for this day and had to do it off-book and i think nearly every one did it. Me and Evelina kind of disapointed our teacher but we will try and do better in the upcoming lessons.
ReplyDeleteAfter we moved to Picture groups. Some of the froups could not act it due to redoing some year picture or watever it is. Me, Gamlet and Max did our Picture well thought, we could off done it much better. I enjoyed waching others playing their scenes, and am lookig forward to see some of the scenes like History groups and picture pairs.
FRIDAY is THE final PERFORMANCE i wish every one good luck!
The double period was spent showing the teacher that we had learned our lines.
ReplyDeleteThe performance i did was with Onur and our repetoire picture scene. I knew all my lines, until i got up to perform them where everything went horrible wrong and i froze up and looked like an idiot in front of everyone. I tried to remember them just my mind had gone blank, and i didnt get such a good grade :(
We got a second chance to perform it but i couldnt as i got short tounged and messed up again. Then i was going to do my final performance of the sailor sketch with Evelina and Sara, but i had to go for the sibling photo's for the yearbook, so we didnt do it but i know all my lines for that performance :D which is good.
By Friday, i will know ALL my lines and hopefully i wont freeze up because if i do then i will go mental :)
Im not looking forward to performing the history scenes, as my group have absalutly nothing at all.. So for my final two performances im using the Picture Groups and Repetoire Scene with Onur, and hopefully they will be really good pieces of work.
Sorry for posting the blog up late, but my internet wasnt working properly as we had a power cut. Apologies.
Sam :)

ReplyDeleteOn the double-lesson we were supposed to do perform the repertoire scenes off-book and have our final performances of the picture groups. Unfortunately, it didn't go exactly like it was planned due to yearbook picture retakes which i had to attend. So our group (me, sam and evelina) didn't have time to do our scene. But i did perform the repertoire scene off-book with Luke and i gotta say but we knew it all pretty well. I knew all of my lines but just stumbled on a few of them. So now that we know all the lines we can focus more on our staging, voices, hand gestures etc.
For the picture group scene that we were supposed to do that day we didn't have time to do, but it was actually kind of lucky since some of us in the group forgot to bring props and costumes and weren't so prepared. So we just might have saved our grade for that one. I already brought the props and costume for myself and it's all in the drama room at the moment so for friday all i need to take with is the props and costumes for the history and picture pair scenes. Hopefully it will go as well as the repertoire scene did for me :D
I was away. I'm trying my best to learn my scripts but I didn't get the email until today (wednesday) so if I am not word for word I appologise
ReplyDeleteIn today's lesson we watched all of the repertoire scenes to see if everyone knows their lines. Everyone knew their lines well, since the lowest grade is an 85.
ReplyDeleteFor me and Sam's scene, I knew my lines 95% for both of the times we did it. We had to do it twice because there was a part that Sam just stopped =P The second time, the same thing happened, but we both improved out grades, and I am very happy with my grade =D
Next, the class started doing the picture groups. Our group couldn't perform because Siri was missing, and another group couldn't perform because they had to go get their pictures taken, so they just left all of a sudden. The groups that went were all really good. I think the only problem is they focus too much on remembering their lines so they can't act it out as good as they could.
Now I have to learn my lines perfectly for my picture group scene, my history scene, and my picture pair scene. I think the one that needs the most work is the picture pair scene because me and Christina only managed to work on it for about 4 lessons, so we haven't perfected it yet. We're getting there though.

ReplyDeleteeeeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyy it was very good lesson we all did the repetories scenes and some of us we did the picture scenes but they were not good:(
ReplyDeleteI`m so happy about it because i got 95 and that is kind of A+ :)
And friday is the final one so we have to be ready for it..
I hope you will put the grade in myschool.
Thank you for the lesson and for the grade...
In today's lesson we did an off-book rehersal of our repitoire scenes. Mine and Sara's went very well, I had a problem with 2 lines but in our actual performance this won't be a problem. Sara did extremly well.
ReplyDeleteWe then did our picture groups. I was a bit dissapointed with my groups performance as some of us missed many lines but I made my own mistakes. If we could have done it again, it propbably would have been better.
