Today we worked on four of our five current projects and had a very productive double period. Please write your reflections on today's work here.
(PS - Though there was at least one case of conflict between collaborators today, you only have to write about this if you want to and think it would be productive. I would suggest that moving on from conflict that has been resolved is the best idea.)
Absent today: Silke (I'll try doing it this way from now on, but please leave a comment indicating that you were absent if I miss you.)

During this lesson we have revised our picture groups ( in which I was together with, Siri and Onur), our picture pairs (in which i was together with, Onur), our repertoire scene (in which i was together with, Mike) as well as our History groups ( and in this one I was together with, Siri and Max). We have been working quite hard on all of these projects. For the picture pair - together with Onur we finally have a script ready and have practiced the scene without a script today which really worked. In our history groups, we are very close to knowing everything by heart, We know our lines well enough to be practicing the scene without the script. In the repertoire scene together with mike we know our piece quite well and are very likely to be performing soon without a script. In our Picture groups we have not been practicing outside of class, and so we do not really know our lines that well however, getting close to it. For the rest, everything is coming very well and I am excited to see how all of the pieces will come out for the final piece. Each day we are progressing more and more and this is visible.
ReplyDeleteToday's real-life drama piece I suggest that me and max should get a grade for performing such an act for the whole class. However, I know it was inappropriate and I am sorry for what happened.. we all learn from our mistakes and life goes on anyway.
Christina L.
Hihihihi, I was just jokin about the grade :) :) :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteChristina Humor.
LOL YA no grade for that, i was just the guy getting hit...
ReplyDeleteANYWAYSSSS..... today we revised all our old groups, the History groups,(me, Siri and Christina) also we did the picture groups,(me, Martin and Gamlet) the Picture Pairs,(Luke and I) ( this is also where luke and i made alot of improvment...).
Today we started off with our Repertoire scenes. These where the ones where in pairs and we had to work on our scenes. For me it was the macarena with Picasso (Gamlet). So for this Gamlet and i made a few changes. We thought that we should sit down for some of it and also we thought that at the beginning we should start facing our backs to the audience so they see our AWESOME stickers Siri made for us, saying HI IM EINSTEIN and HI IM PICASSO... SO thats great. Also we thought that we could use with a wig and fake moustache for Me, Einstein and also a berrette for gamlet or picasso to make him look FRENCH......
In the group of Martin, Gamlet and I we did make progress, because we finally read our scripts. This was a problem because we had to photocopy our scripts, then the power went out and we had to do it all again and then the printer went out sooo.... we just managed to read our scripts... and to solve problems next time... here is the script.
Jake the Orphan
Scene I
Policeman: I know your in here you brat! You can’t hide!
Policeman: Come out, come out, where ever you are. You can’t hide forever.
Jake: Wow what a day. I really don’t want to repeat this day ever again.
Policeman: Hey, you, kid, don’t run, WAIT! I’m not going to hurt you just wait
Jake: Leave me alone you police thingy! Just let me go home.
Policeman: Aha! Got you, you little rat! Why where you stealing? What did you do? Where are your parents?
Jake: I don’t know leave me alone, let me go home.
Policeman Why don’t you take me to your house and we can talk about what you did?
Scene II
Barman: Good day officer. How may I help you?
Policeman: Good day too you too. I found this kid sneaking around the supermarket stealing food and other goods, by any chance, do you know him?
Barman: I’m sorry officer but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before. Coming to think of it he might be of the place, I’ve seen him at the orphanage earlier.
Jake: I am not an orphan you mad man. Let me go!
Barman: Stop lying you fag, you are an orphan, I’ve seen you running around that area for ages. Anyway officer what are you going to do with the kid?
Policeman: I have no idea!
Barman: Why don’t you just let the poor kid go, he’ll return to the orphanage.
Jake: I hate you police just listen to him.
Policeman: Shhh! No I don’t think letting him go is safe he might steal more goods. I think I’ll take him back to the orphanage.
Jake: No don’t take me back, I hate that place!
Policeman: Why not?
Jake: They treat us like slaves. We are living being. I do not belong there. I hate it, its so annoying. Leave me alone.
Jake: OH MY GOD look what a huge bird
Police: I guess why he stole from the supermarket will always be a mystery to me. Who cares, I have a whole bar just for me. The fake disguise worked!!! YEAH BABY!!!
The End
Now. We also did our Picture Pairs where luuke and i managed to act it out perfectly and all wee need to do now is learn our lines. We thought that alfred, the jockey trainer, LUKE should wear an olden style hat and I should well be myself. All we need now is sara's news00paper and our memories. This piece is going great and i hope we continue to enjoy it.
Also today we did a History Groups were we only managed to play it through twice without problems... Sorry... We had a little accident and i appologise for that. Anyways we still made some progress and since our piece is very short i think we will have no problem learning our lines as we know all our actions. Props would be amazing. an axe would be goood too, sam if u could plz. but if not ill make one... TY.
THE END of my Reflection :)
REFLECTION - Sara Welander
ReplyDeleteToday, amazingly, we actually kept to our whole schedule and worked efficiently on each of the four scenes. First we worked on the group scene. We now really need to work on memorising our scripts and bringing in necessary props as already on WEDNESDAY we will have our final performance. Here i already know pretty much all my lines, but i should start thinking of my costume and bringing in perhaps a tea cup and a large newspaper. I'm also thinking of maybe a sjal to have over my head and tied under my chin like an old lady usually has it. That would be a good effect :)
For the repertoire scenes, all the progress that we've gotten so far is having tried to do the scene 'off-book'. I know the beginning of it..but need to work on the end and i still need to work on my staging. i've also thought that in the beginning of the scene, instead of just sitting and thinking i cud be sipping some tea from a tea cup, so thats an extra prop we need to bring in. It would give me something to do in the beginning as well to kind of show i am relaxed, and that i am a middle-aged wife.
For the picture pair we are doing pretty well. I memorized my lines before, not like Martin who didn't even want the script from me hehe. But now he will study it. He will have to. ANYWAYS, yes...and here i will need to use the large newspaper as a prop as well a gun which we still dont have either. But luke promised (hopefully) to bring in a gun on thursday so then we can start working with that prop. We also added a loud, proud, evil but confident laugh at the end for me showing that im the one in charge, not the gangsta a.k.a. Martin.
For the history scene we are progressing and getting more comfortable with the script. But all of us really need to start remembering lines as next friday is our final performance. We haven't thought and discussed together what we are to wear, though we know that Abraham Lincoln will wear that 'high' black hat in the costume box. I was thinking i cud wear a kind of professional, fancy dress as im the wife of the president and that we were watching a play at a grand theatre. It would also look more dramatic with all the drama in the ending with Abraham being shot with me running towards him with my elegant clothing. I think so at least :P i dont know if theres anything else i need to mention. Oh yes, we need another gun here. To use for the murder of the president. Though in this case it will be Anne-mieke who will be the killer. But here we can use the same gun as the one Luke will be bringing in. Ha, seems like i need a gun in nearly all the scenes except 1!
Today we rehearsed all the scenes and we started with the repertoire scenes. Sam and I have already started to learn our lines so we don't really need our scripts anymore. We also started changing the scene (the props and the layout) and we're even thinking of changing our accents to English accents, since some of the words in the script seem to be stuff that only English people would say. We tried rehearsing like that, and it really worked well1 :D All we really need to do now is fully learn our lines and get all the props we need.
ReplyDeleteThe next thing we did was out picture groups. Siri, Christina and I have really gotten far in this but we still don't really know our lines. But we work well as a group and we act it out really well even though we're still holding our scripts. As soon as we learn our lines, we can start working on all the other things to make it even better.
The next thing we worked on was our picture pairs. Christina and I basically know what we have to say and do (we know this because we both forgot our scripts today). We just need the props (I am making a picture frame out of cardboard and we need a chess board). We also need to focus a little bit more. And Christina. STOP. LAUGHING. :D
The last thing we rehearsed today was our history scenes. I'm working with Sara and Anne-mieke and we're really progressing, although we all really need to learn our lines because there are really long pauses when one of us tries not to use their script but fails at remembering their line. That's usually me, anyway. I think we all have our perfect roles because Sara is a really great 'wife' and she acts it out really well when she is like nervous about sounds coming from the back, and Anne-mieke is a really good 'bad person' and I especially like her last line when she says "Your days of presidency are over, (sarcastically) sir". All we need to do is learn out lines and get our costumes basically.
Just to remind you that I wasn’t there from the 21st to the 27th so I couldn’t do the reflection.
ReplyDeleteToday we rehearsed the scenes. So I really liked to do it again and we need to learn the lines off course. The scene with Mike, Luke and me was only that it is a bit of a chaos and we need to know where we are talking about and sometimes it is confusing who has to shoot who and stuff but we need to learn the lines and I need to talk better English xD because Luke used a few hard English words ha-ha! So I need to practice on that…
The picture pairs was really cool because now we have really a “done” script which was really cool. Also with that one we need to know it better because with this one the lines are really easy ( I think) to learn and I like it that this one is really realistic! We did it without the paper and we knew where it was about so we did it already quite well but we still need the script: P.
The History one is really cool ha-ha I like it because I’m the killer and by the group pairs I die so I couldn’t go away with that and now I go away with killing someone in this case Killing Onur!! (Oops I mean Lincoln). But we need to learn my lines Ohhhh why is it always coming to learning the lines but we are processing now but when we really start to process it that we know the lines. Because there are a lot of pauses when we are like oo, it’s my turn!
Anne-mieke
Ps: Onur hahaha thanks for the compliment :D (laughs what I can’t “evil” Mhuaha)
In todays lesson, we worked on many projects.
ReplyDeleteWe firstly worked on our repitoire scenes. Mine and Sara's has improved as we have begun to get off script. I must remember to bring in a gun on thursday though.
We then worked on our Picture group scenes. This we haven't done in a while. The positioning in my group's performance has improved as this was previously a weakenss. All we need to do is get off script for our large chunks of dialogue and remember the difficult positioning and actions. If we achieve this then our performance should be very good.
In the picture pairs, Max and I got to play around with the part we added onto the end with me dying. We thought it would work if I gradually increased coughing and showed this by smoking a cigarette. We know most of our lines for this.
The final piece we did today was our history groups. My group finally found a way of performing the death of Rasputin. Tonight I did a rough script which we will look at tommorow and see if we need to change it or not. The final scrpit will be posted tommorow.
Yesterday during drama lesson we did many things. First of all we rehearse our work. For that action we need to dance Macarena. Me and Max actually we did good work for 20-25 minutes. It was Pretty funny we had so much fun doing that work.
ReplyDeleteAfter we started the picture groups. I didn’t like the story because I wasn’t there when they started it. So we rehearse that one to. After those 20 minutes I almost memorized my lines by hard. We did all the staff we had to do. We also decide about the movement. It is good now, much better then it was.
This was the funniest part of me and Mike. We did our picture scene but we didn’t finish it because Mike said “Gamlet don’t worry I will finish the work at home”. And he didn’t finish it. We had half of the story that’s why started thinking about movements.
The Last part of drama lesson was the history groups. Our group: Mike, Sam and me. We have the best group ever :D. Our story is funny because there lines when we all say I agree Do you? I agree to. And Mike he left the script at home so we had nothing to do we just decide what we will change letter on.
OK Soo yesterday we rehearse all of our work. First me and Evelina rehearsed our play and changed some of the things so it looks better.
ReplyDeleteThen we rehearsed the picture monologue which i don't really like but we have to do it. We did not have enought time to rehearse it because Max forgot the papers at home and he had to go and print everything during the time when we should rehearse it.
Then me and Sara rehearsed our scene which i like the moust of all. We made some changes and played it a couple of times we had fun !
The last thing was when me Luke RIPLEY :D and Eveline FINALLY decided what to do on our history monologue and we started writing it.
So that is basicly what we did in our Drama class ohh yeah i forgot to menshion the fight between Max and Christina hah! anyway thats what we did !
i couldnt post anything on that day, as my internet was down. :/
ReplyDeleteSorry :(
I know it's late but I didn't get internet until like Wednesday so :
ReplyDeleteToday in class we worked on all our scenes. I went through my lines for the Sea Monster one. I still need to work on that learning line wise. Then we did the Picture Pairs .. that I am almost perfect for I just need to learn a few line. Picture groups I just need to learn the bit with the Brother and Jacob and then I'll be off book. For my History group it was a very strange rehersal instead of dying when she was beheaded Mary actually stood up and beat up the executioner! :O strange twist to the script, don't remember writing that one : P
I am off book for the history group almost though and so we just need an axe. Ummmm , lets see .. for the Picture pair I am going to bring in some kind of stuffed animal to make my character even weirder! Maybe a chameleon if I can find otherwise I shall just bring in my toy dog or something : )
Over and Out
In today’s lesson, we worked on many projects.
ReplyDeleteWe first worked on our repertoire scenes. Christina and I have improved as we have begun to get off script.
We then worked on our Picture group scenes. We haven't done in a while. The positioning in my group's performance has improved as this was previously a weakness. In the picture pairs, Gamlet and I got to play around with the part we added onto the end with me dying. We thought it would work. We tend t use a lot of improvisation. We know most of our lines for this.
The final piece we did today was our history groups. My group didn’t have our lines so we discussed how we would perform it and what props we would use.
michael cini
So on this class we actually got to do everything without much hurry, i think it happened because we knew what we were doing, and we were mainly just rehearsing our scenes with eachother.
ReplyDeleteSo, we started off as working on our repertoire scenes, and martin and i finally got sure of what we were working on. Now we need to learn our lines, but to me it is very hard to learn lines in group scenes, monologues are so much easier for me.
Then we worked on our picture group scenes, and i think it is working pretty well right now:) I worked on this scene with enthusiasm, because i wanted to try and work as a male, to be honest it is not a very good experience, ebcause i already have my "girly" gestures, which are really hard to control.
Then we worked on pictur epairs, and that was hard because i forgot my folder, so we went to print and it took us time. And plus we never really worked on it, though it is one of the old ones we should be good at.
After that we worked on our history scenes, and so far it was productive because we finally chose something to work on, to be honest if you'd given us more time we would still choose what to work on 2 lesons before presenting(need more organisational skills!)
And basically that was it, i really enjoyed this lesson:P
