  1. My reflection from today.
Today we rehearsed all the scenes. First we did the good doctor scenes but Mike was rehearsing his other scene and Luke was rehearsing ‘The Sneeze’. The second thing what we did was the ‘Death of the Salesman’ I actually don’t really like that scene and its really boring. I knew it first all but now I don’t really remember it because of all the things what we needed to do so it was a bit hard to know it so I was happy that I had my script!
Then we did the repertoire scenes which I didn’t have so I was Gamlet with the Picasso and Einstein scene. It was together with Max and it was really cool to do another scene and to see it so close. Then Max and I we did the monologues which we both didn’t know! I need to learn my monologue soon but I just forget to learn it! And the woman who I (play) am has a accent so I need to look closely at that one.
We also did really fast the ‘Romeo and Juliet ‘scene I even didn’t come to my lines and it was really a chaos but okay, we really need to do that one again and then look how we have to act and that the girls play some friends from the guys. Because that was a bit what we missed.
Later we saw from the ‘Good doctor’ scene Onur and Evelina from the dentist who doesn’t graduate from being a dentist but says that he actually can do without it! And Evelina has really a toothache and is really scared that Onur is going to hurt her and that she feels a lot of pain! It was really nice to look at. I liked the double lesson!

  3. In todays lesson we have revised our scenes in a certain time. We started off with Good Doctor scene which was me and Silke. We got the chance to go through it two times and did some actions more or less. We had then moved on to romeo and juliet scene we didnt even manage to finish that one. Then we moved on to repertoire scene which me and mike did well on. And in the end we all watched the Good doctor scene of Evelina and Onur called " Surgery" it was a very funny scene and im sure that it will be so much better off book and known very well!!

  4. Today in drama we had a double lesson. We were meant to rehearse many scenes in groups and on our own and actually managed to do it. So first we rehearsed our Romeo and Juliet scenes if I'm not mistaken which went very well as we advanced greatly in them in this week. Then we did our good doctor scenes which were awesome, except I couldn't do mine until we found a great substitute for the missing Gamlet, Luke. We did it almost perfectly and made many improvements on this too. After this we did our death of a salesman scenes which went really well except for the fact that we couldn't fully finish our scene. It still went well. After that we rehearsed our repertoire scenes and yet again I was paired with Gamlet for this and he was not here and so I did it with Anne-Mieke who acted it pretty well. She is going to be our 'just in case of me or Gamlet not being here replacement'. Phew that was long. Me and anne-mieke then did our monologues together which went pretty well as well, we did them. We both did not know them and so we had to read them. Still we learnt that we could use some actions with the reading too. Eventually the lesson was coming to an end and Mr. Machlachlan wanted to see the good doctor scenes of Onur and Evelina, which I think is a really good idea. We all thought they did well as their dialogue was well read and said and their actions were exciting. Anyway this was the last of our double lesson...

  5. REFLECTION!!!

For the first lesson we all worked separately in our romeo and juliet groups. I think it was a bit of an improvement this time since we payed more attention on the staging and really focused on our acting skills, hand movements, voice etc. Straight after we were told to work on the death of a salesman scene. Me and Evelina are pretty confident with ours since we know all our lines, have tried new interesting things with our acting. Hopefully, we will get a pretty good grade since we have been working hard on it :D After we were told to work on the repertoire scene. Me and Luke know the lines pretty good, but not as well as before bcuz of the fairly long break we got from it. But we can act without a script thats for sure. We've also tried some new things with the staging like when to stand up etc. Also thinking bout our props and costumes like the gun, the newspaper, typical housewife and husband clothes. We are definitely prepared for the graded performance. Then straight after, with the same people we did the repertoire scenes with we were to perform to the person our repertoire monologues. I know pretty much all my lines so i think im good on it, Luke's monologue was very interesting but he talked kind of fast so i couldn't hear everything, but otherwise it was great. For the last scenes we were to work on the good doctor scenes. Only had time to go through "the sneeze", worked a bit more on my stuck-up, cold, rich character. But since i didn't have that many lines i went through "the drowned man" script, but before Martin was done, the bell rang and the class was done. So we will have to work on it next class when we got the time.

  6. So, on this lesson we finally managed to get through a lot of work! We started as working in our romeo&juliette scenes, and I think that we are quite good at it. Straight after that we started working on our Death of a Salesman scene, and I think that it is my best scene at the moment, because we know our lines perfectly, also we are now good at not crossing our legs, having these girly gestures:)
Then we started working on our repertoire scenes, and now I know my lines better, but the action is a bit not so good to be honest. Then I stayed with Martin to work on my monologue, he is a bad critic because he thinks that if i learned my lines, im good, but in reality i have no idea whether or not i shall slow down, go faster, or maybe make it more dramatic.
Then we went through the sneeze, i actually like my character there, and since gamlet and siri were not there i had to be the writer, and luke went as general. I think that Gamlet is better than uke because Luke over reacts when he should be like "talk to the hand" kind of person.
And that was pretty much it, i need to learn my likes for the sneeze and the surgery.

  7. Today we managed to get through a lot of stuff. We started by doing 'Death of a Salesman' and I pretty much know all my lines and I know what to do, and so does Mike, so that scene isn't a problem.

Then we did Romeo and Juliet, and the same thing as last lesson happened; we didn't managed to finish. Some of us read really slowly, and sometimes people don't know when it is their turn to speak. Also, there was a bit of confusion because there were two people from our group absent on the day, so I had to read their lines. Overall, this scene is going well. There aren't really any problems in this scene, just things that we could improve to make the scene as good as possible.

Then, we went on to doing our repertoire scenes. Me and Sam both know our lines almost perfectly, and we both do the scene really well. It's fun and funny for both of us, so this scene is set since a long time ago.

Last, we did our good doctor scenes. These are probably the most fun, especially 'The Surgery'. I first did 'The Seduction with Sam and Mike, and it's a really long scene so we had to skip some of the really long lines to actually get the scene finished so we could separate and do out other 'Good Doctor' scenes. 'The Seduction' is going really well. I don't think I can learn all my lines for it, but I'm definitely planning on getting a good idea of when my lines show up, and even more of how I'm going to say them. In a few more lessons, this scene should be completely finished. My next 'Good Doctor' scene was 'The Surgery'. This is is the funniest one I have done in the whole year, and Evelina as the Sexton and me as the Doctor is a really good combination I think. She's really good at showing that she's in pain, and this helps make the scene more funny. We were almost finished going through it when we had to act it out in front of the class. We still don't know what do do with the stage in some parts of the scene, but I know we'll end up making the scene really good, and really funny.

  8. Today we started off with our Death of a Salesman scenes. Max and I are doing quite well. We pretty much know all our lines and can act the scene well. I think we just need to make a couple of tweaks and we’ll be there.

We then moved on to our Romeo and Juliet scenes. This went well again and we began to play around even more with how we will act it. I thought about how to joke about more as Mercutio. Our group would like to make the scene a bit more humorous.

After this we did our repertoire scenes. Sara and I know our lines and are very familiar with the scene. We definitely have nailed this one and if we perform it well in our performance, it could definitely go very well.

We also touched on our monologues and went through them. I need to get off book on mine, which won’t take long. Hopefully I can have it all ready by the 17th.

The final piece we worked on today was our good doctor scenes. As Mike was busy with ‘the seduction’ and Gamlet wasn’t here. I joined the group doing ‘the sneeze’. It is a very entertaining and funny scene and I liked it a lot. I’m hoping that we can do ‘the defenceless creature’ soon. It is one of my favourite pieces we have done this year.

  9. Sorry it's late , but better late then never right ?
We started the lesson by sitting down and talking and listening.Afterwards we rehearsed our death of a salesman scene. I knew my lines but some brushing up this weekend wouldn't hurt :P . After that we went off and rehearsed our Romeo & Juliet scenes. I just need to learn the Prince's lines. I know the citizens lines. Then we did the repetoire scenes, I need to learn my lines for all of these because I don't know any of my lines. I have a lot to learn with the writer parts though! After those we went off to do repetoire scenes. I thought I knew them then I got confused because people were saying I didn't need to know them but I pretty much know them .. I think >< . Then Silke helped me go through my monologue I know that except the last two lines I always get confused but i'm trying to turn that always to a never dont worry. After that we watched Surgery :D
    Which is awesome!

  12. sorry about it being so late, none of the blog was working for me up until today.

During today's lesson we rehearsed all the scenes we have, our repotoire, romeo and juliet, death of a salesman, the good doctor and our monolouges. All the performances were going well, and ive just got to learn my lines for the monolouge and then i'll be fine :)

We then watched Onur and Evelina perform Surgery, which was hilarious both evelina and onur play the part really well, and its a really good scene.
