Reflection - Thursday, May 27

Please submit your reflection on today's work here.

Please also read the message below. (We talked about this in class.)

Much of today's scheduled work has been postponed due to absences. Since the work of our class is almost all collaborative, and because absences occasionally necessarily happen, it is necessary for us to be especially flexible in our schedule. Let's take the following approach in order that all our remaining work gets done with as little stress to anyone as possible.

1. Let's spend today's and tomorrow's classes performing those projects that are ready to be performed and for which all participants are present. Today's and tomorrow's lunch periods are also available for any such projects.

2. Let's consider the DUE DATE for EVERY remaining project to be MONDAY. In other words, if it is necessary, you may be called on to perform any of your remaining scenes anytime after Monday.

3. Until everything is performed, let's meet for LUNCH in our classroom MONDAY THROUGH THURSDAY of next week.

If we do this, we will surely get everything done on time and be able to relax and prepare for exams!

  1. REFLECTION!!!

Today in our double-period we talked (almost panicking) about this and next weeks graded performances. Since we are very behind schedule we need to work pretty hard on the performances and memorizing all our lines for tomorrow and the next week. I've got left the death of a salesman scene with evelina, which we are going to perform tomorrow. I got as well the romeo and juliet scene, also performed tomorrow, and then the drowned man with martin which we REALLY need to work on since only really had one time to rehearse it. Today we started performing our good doctor scenes instead of the other ones since we could have our script up there it would be easier to just get it over and done with. First we watched the seduction with sam, onur and mike. Fantastic as usual. Loved the costumes ;P Afterwards we performed the sneeze for the class. We were also in costumes, me and evelina in dresses, mine slightly posher and more flamboyant than hers. And gamlet and max had formal uniforms etc. I think it went really well, we all got it right and didn't really do any mistakes. Hopefully all of us in the group got good grades xD

  3. Today we were very exited yet worried in class. WE HAD SO MUCH TO DO. We had Silke's Monologue, 4 Death of a Salesman scenes and 2 Romeo and Juliet scenes, oh and did I mention ALL THE GOOD DOCTOR SCENES!!! We still managed a fair amount as we all were partially prepared and we all tried our best. We got through a lot I think in that double period and we really worked hard for it. So the people that did their scenes were the Seduction and The Sneeze. 2 fun scenes to watch. I was in the Sneeze and I must say, we were AMAZING, well from the actor's point of view. Also I think our costumes were very nice and our actions and speech was amazing. Sara and Evelina were amazing wives whilst Gamlet and I were amazing workmen and the acting was great for all of them too. We also before we did our scene watched Sam, Mike and Onur perform, the SEDUCTION. It was really good yet 1 thing that needed work was the staging. Maybe if you guys use it as course work you can stage it out better. That was the Problem with the Sneeze too, the poles where in the way. Anyway guys we did AMAZING. We area amazing actors, aren't we?!?

  4. In the thirst period of Drama we rehearsed the good doctor scenes and in the last period Max, Evelina, Gamlet, Sara, Sam, Mike and Onur performed their good doctor scenes.
Both scenes was very good but I liked “the sneeze” best because it was funny.

  5. Today we rehearsed our good doctor scenes for the first period. Anne Mieke and I didn’t get too far due to costuming.

During the second period we watched the two longest scenes. The seduction was once again performed really well. We then saw the sneeze which was very funny but Gamlet should have really gotten pissed instead if just reading his lines. But it’s his decision.

  6. Today we had a busy day because we were a bit panicking because we had a lot of thing to do. like we had a few of Death of a Salesman and Silke needs to do her monologue and we had The Good Docktor scenes. Then there is also the Romeo and Juliet which I am studying now, like the last few lines. So I think that that was the first period.

Then we watched our Good Docktor Scenes with the Zneeze and the Seduction, really well done! Even I saw it quitte a few times it is really cool!
We did rehearse a bit of our scene but we need to work on more...

Now im going to swim xD

  8. Today we had a double period, and had a discussion in class about all the remaining scenes and performances left to be performed.

We still have at least 10 to do, but i think were right on track, in the end we all decided to start off the Good Doctor Scenes since we could use scripts, so it would be farly easy.

We started off watching 'The Seduction' which is mine, onurs and mike's scene. I think it went quite well, even though their were some complications with the scripts.. :P

Then after our performance we watched Max, Evelina, Siri, Sara & Gamlet perform 'The Sneeze' and they did an excellent job with it, its still funny each time we watch it, so good job guys and kepe it up ! :)

  10. So, on this lesson we first started off as discussing where we are, and how to make progress, and started planning what to do. We decided to work in lunches, and that everyone needs to come in lunch so that we get through a lot of work done. Many people ofcourse were unhappy, but what do you expect if for the whole year we could do whatever we wanted, could often forget our scripts, not knowing lines etc.
So we decided to come tomorow lunch, and work on death of a salesman scenes tomorow, and work on good doctor today.
At first I was worried that I don't have my costume with me, but at that same minute Max found a dress for me which was quite good, so we could do the sneeze.
First we watched the seduction and I really liked it, everything was good, except that Mike should have stapled his script.
Then my group went with the sneeze, and it was ok.
That was all we did on that lesson:)

  11. Today we had to do a lot of stuff. We were really confused at first, and just talking about what we were going to do took about half of the first lesson.

If I can remember right, it was Sam , Mike and I doing 'The Seduction' first. I think we did fine. We had a problem because we only had two scripts, and me and Sam had to read from the same script at some points, and I had a bit of trouble doing that. But otherwise, it was great! Our costumes were awesome, and we managed to say everything and get it over with.

Then, another group did 'The Sneeze'. It was really good, and it was really funny. Max's role was really good, and Gamlet was good too, and so was everyone else in the play.

We still have a lot of stuff to do, especially me, but since we're going to go every lunch, I think we will finish everything just fine. I still have to do my 'Death of a Salesman', 'Surgery', and 'Romeo and Juliet', but I'll be fine hopefully.
