Onur - The Zykovs by Maxim Gorky

Anne-Mieke - The Web by Eugene O'Neill
Sara - The Hairy Ape by Eugene O'Neill
Evelina - The Danube by Maria Irene Fornes
Siri - Victory on Mrs. Dandywine's Island by Lanford Wilson
Luke - (What were the title and author? Nice singing.)

Please submit your reflection on today's work here. Please also remember that Mike, Martin, Christina and Anne-Mieke agreed to come to our classroom at or before homeroom time to perform or re-perform their monologues!

  1. REFLECTION!!!

Today for our double-lesson nearly everyone in the class performed their final monologues which were to be graded. I thought everyones went REALLY well. Even though they forgot a few lines and had to repeat their monologues a few times. But it doesnt matter because they were greatly-acted. Concerning mine, i thought it was okay. I really did try to do my best. But we had to do it twice since on the first take, right after my last line i said 'the end' or something like that. It was apparently too soon and caught on the video so we had to do it over again. And i was also talking a fast again, so it was good to do it a second time. i really hope it was good!!!! Though, i'm really relieved we're done with these repertoire monologues. Phew xO

  2. Today in Drama we performed monologues. Everybody was up and performed the monologues except Mike, Martin, Gamlet, Christina and me.
I liked that I could just watch the other performing and I didn’t have to concentrate on how I was going to perform. I think they all were good but I especially liked Siri’s monologue. I think it was very good.

  3. In todays drama lesson people have performed their repertoire monologues. It was great watching them all and getting ideas for your own act. However when the turn can on me, i completely lost all my lines in my head and could not move on. I mixed up some lines and we were in a hurry anyway and this made it very hard to focus. Tomorrow before the bell rings for homeroom or during homeroom i will be in the drama room performing my monologue!

  4. Today in drama we had to perform the monologues. It was really nice seeing so many different styles of monologues. I learnt really hard and I hoped that it would come more fluently but it didnt. So I hope I can do it better tomorrow and just get it in my head and say it with a bit more emotion.. Because that was a bit hard with people looking at you and you remember your lines and holding a baby and seeing the camera xD I thought it was hard. But I hope that I will do it tomorrow better than today I will study it a bit more.

  5. Today, we performed our monologues. The lesson started off slow with only 3 people done in the first period. However, in the end, we got though most people.

Everyone that performed did really well. People played their scenes in their own way and all were very effective. I think that I did ok on mine, made a couple of mistakes but we are only human so it doesn’t matter. I mainly aimed to talk slower and use more pauses. I think I did better on this than last time.

Hopefully tomorrow I will not let Sara down in our repertoire scene and not mess up my lines. :P

  6. Today we were all meant to be tested on our monologues. But as usual, there were some problems and we went a bit slow and some people still haven't meant. Fortunately, I managed to get mine over with quickly.

Everyone did really well (the ones that managed to finish). The problem was that most of them were kind of quiet, and I though as I was watching. how could the camera pick that up? But hopefully it did. I don't know the problem in mine because I focused on being loud and saying my lines good but maybe it was because I couldn't remember my lines sometimes...? Oh well, I'll ask the teacher tomorrow.

I'm confident for my Repertoire Scene performance with Sam tomorrow. We both know out lines, we both know how to do it, and we both like the scene a lot. :D

  7. Today in class we had a fun lesson. We were supposed to perform 12 (well 13 but Gamlet was absent) monologues in 2 periods. Easy and quick right. WRONG. We took a whole period to do 3 of the monologues. It was a very big hassle but eventually we got going. So today we watched and performed nearly all of our monologues. We didn't perform some of them. I think everyone did extremely well. Some might have needed to shout a bit more, but otherwise it was good. I didn't think I said mine softly as I speak really loud and don't need to project my voice any louder. Any contradictions?

Anyway. I'm very sure our repertoire scenes as Onur pointed out will be going great. Thanks for reminding me and I guess I hope Gamlet shows up. OR ELSE HE SHALL BE TERMINATED. nah just kidding.

  8. So, on this lesson we had to present the final bits of our monologues which we did:)
I was very distracted on the lesson because people were making faces which i think was very unfair, and therefore i had like ten thousand takes and used a lot of lesson time which is unfair to the others.
I really liked everybody's monologues and looking forward to seeing christina's, martin'a and mike's.
Tomoow we will perform our repertoire scenes, and me and martin are going third, though im not sure if we will be able to because of the time.

  9. Today during drama class everyone performed their monolouges. I was planned to go second, but due to people laughing at my lines, i kept messing up, and i even mixed up a load of lines. It was quite hard to stand up their and give a good monolouge, but after the 4th time i managed to deliver an OK performance.

Everyone did a fantastic job !
    Especially Sara, Siri & Onur.
But well done to everyone, they were all very good :)
